The work entitled “Remote Patiente Monitoring in Home Environments“, developed by Paulo Rui Gonçalves during his MSc dissertation at the ISUS group (FCT/UFP), won the first prize in the 8th international technological contest promoted by the Galicia Government in December 2008.
This work focused on remote patient monitoring in home environments using a wireless low cost hardware solution. The prototype which is based on a microcontroller with several sensors (cf. temperature, oxymeter and a 3-axis accelerometer) has convinced the jury about its merit and quality.
This has been the eighth edition of the contest which is targeted to projects developed both in Portugal and/or Spain.
